POEM:

night writing this night
blanket this endless
night     I swing in the darkness
following the last ship
comes a call a tremulous
wail    this is
the way to explore dark
matter and darkness
to harness the inexplicable
forced to look at x-rays
of our own metabolism
electricity is of the essence
caught in our net a juvenile
albatross among plastic
flotsam     orphan waves
are redundant     IMHO
invasive is not appropriate
in this instance   compass
as quilt or vice versa     we
wound rope in endless
ritual     callosities
not only for the whale
practical water meets
handbook of autopsy
practice     offshore
futures are made
of the past     or
starlight mistaken for
satellites or     dead light
of dead stars
echo the shimmer
less sea    empty
upon entrance and
exit     by which I mean
overwhelmed
by the inedible     if nothing
is caught are we still
fishing
